Five good reasons to have a Pre Wedding Photo Shoot.

Should we be looking for a wedding photographer that offers a pre wedding photo shoot? Is there any point when in a few months we will be getting married and getting all the photos we need of us together. What exactly is a wedding photo shoot and what does it involve? These are valid questions when planning your wedding and worthy of discussion.

Here’s five good reasons why having a pre wedding photo shoot is a really good idea…

  1. Relax!

For most of us the thought of posing for the camera is not something we relish so why not take the opportunity to learn how to relax in front of the camera. I am very used to couples that feel awkward posing for photos and like to think that I have developed ways to help even the most uncomfortable couples feel relaxed. This involves a combination of humour, engaging in conversation about things they are passionate about, and also getting them to not look directly at the camera.

  2. An opportunity to meet your photographer!

So you have seen the photographer’s work online and you love the style. But what if they aren’t you kind of person? A bit too bossy, or very serious, inflexible, no personality or even scary! You will spend more time with the photographer on your wedding day that pretty much anybody else. Therefore you need to make sure that you feel comfortable in their presence. I like to think that a lot of my previous couples are now friends as we connected well throughout the whole experience. If I get to know your personality I am going to stand a good chance of capturing the true you.

  3. Celebrate, Embrace, Create Memories!

You may just got engaged or you may have been so for some while. Either way this is an opportunity to celebrate your commitment to each other, embrace the chance to have some nice couple photos taken ( totally free if you have booked my all day package! ) and create some forever memories of your love for each other. Why not take the opportunity to have the photo shoot at a place that has a special meaning for you as a couple.

  4. Let’s talk wedding!

The pre wedding photo shoot is an ideal opportunity to discuss plans for the wedding day. Timings, themes, numbers and mix of people, style of photos and any special requests can be discussed. I may well be able to give some advice as someone who has seen what does and doesn’t work well at weddings!

  5. Help improve your wedding day photos!

The pre wedding photo shoot will be very helpful for me in terms of seeing how natural you are in front of the camera. It’s like a trial run and anything that doesn’t work well…. we have a chance to improve that on your big day. I also like to see which photos you like most from the shoot, allowing me to make sure we get plenty of similar at the wedding. Do you tend to have closed eyes or squint during photos? If that is the case with the pre wedding photos we can be more aware for the most important wedding photos.
